Adoption Resources

WAITING CHILDREN:

http://www.adoptionphotolistingohio.org/  On any given day, over 11,000 Ohio children are living in foster families or in another out-of-home placement setting. These children, who reside in the custody of local children service agencies, may be dealing with issues of past abuse, neglect, and/or dependency. These children need permanent families through adoption.

https://www.adoptuskids.org/   AdoptUSKids is a national project that supports child welfare systems and connects children in foster care with families.

ADOPTION SUBSIDIES:

In Ohio, adoption subsidies are available for children in care.   Adoption subsidies help make permanent homes possible for children with special needs. Many children in care have various forms of special needs.  The State of Ohio produces this booklet to assist you in identifying if the child you are fostering will qualify, and what that might to you. There are two categories of adoption subsidies:  Federal Adoption Assistance (Title IV-E), and the Ohio Adoption Subsidy.  In Ohio, these programs are administered through the county public children services agencies (PCSAs), Children Services Boards, or county departments of job and family services.
